Our journey from a suburban neighborhood to a 60-acre homestead has been quite the learning experience. A desire to provide our daughters with a hands-on understanding of food production and hard work has led to the creation of a vibrant and diverse farmette.
From the initial baby chicks to the expansion into gardening, acquiring pets such as barn kitties, Golden Retrievers, and venturing into the world of geese and horses, we have truly embraced the farm life. A commitment to sustainability and self-sufficiency is evident in our efforts to expand our agricultural pursuits, including the addition of a pick-your-own raspberry option, doubling our vegetable production, and embarking on the cultivation of a cut flower business.
As we enter our third year of farmette living, we are excited about the upcoming developments and are grateful for the support and encouragement from the community. We hope our homestead serves as an inspiration to those who value the connection between the land, food, and family.
We look forward to seeing you at the Farmette! - Steve & Abby Burchett
